What we collect

Trades for Hire stores the details you provide to run the marketplace: your sign-in identity, profile, jobs, approximate and full job location, messages, quotes, photographs, appointments, reviews and account preferences. Trade documents are stored privately for owner review.

Who can see it

Approved trade profiles, portfolio photos, published reviews and clearly described check labels are public. Jobs are visible to their customer and suitable signed-in tradespeople. Contact details and exact job location are shared only after the customer chooses a tradesperson and agrees to share them. The owner can access relevant records to run the service and investigate reports.

Sign-in, notifications and location

The current pilot uses ChatGPT for sign-in. Email sign-in is not connected yet. Postcodes are sent to Postcodes.io to look up their location for local matching. In-app notifications are stored with your account. Device push is optional and uses your browser’s push service. Email notifications are sent only when email delivery has been connected and enabled.

Payments

The free pilot collects no payment details. Once paid introductions are enabled and you consent, Stripe stores the payment method. The marketplace keeps provider references, your fee agreement, spending limit and payment history. It does not receive full card numbers or security codes. Necessary transaction records may be retained for accounting and lead disputes.

Storage on your device

An unfinished job and selected photographs may be saved on your device so you can return to them. Essential sign-in and installation functions use browser storage. Private account pages and messages are not cached for offline browsing. No advertising trackers are added.

Your choices

You can update preferences, export your information, block another member and delete your account from Account. Resolve active bookings before deletion. Personal profile content is removed, while minimal transaction and job records may be retained for disputes or required record keeping. Contact the owner for questions about retention or other data requests.
